Great Opportunities Ahead
Industry Shifting Faster To Sustainable Infrastructure & Buildings
BMG recently spent more than a year investigating and evaluating the long-term impact and pace of sustainability within the construction, infrastructure, mining, aggregate, environmental and recycle markets. Last fall, we introduced BMG Green because we knew it was seriously starting to influence and/or impact each of these markets.
However, the pace is moving faster than generally expected in North America and globally. Many industry market segments now have very active sustainability programs on three fronts:
- Federal, State, County & City – Governments are requiring more sustainable construction practices for various reasons, including reduction in landfill waste, infrastructure budget stretching, environmental challenges and mandates to reduce energy use and costs.
- Commercial & Residential – Sustainable construction within these markets is rapidly exceeding all estimates for growth because it makes economic as well as environmental sense, and people are more willing than ever to pay for it.
- Industry Associations – Several industry associations are developing and supporting their own member sustainability programs and related construction practices, materials and equipment. Among these associations are the National Ready Mix Concrete Association, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, National Homebuilders Association, National Asphalt Pavement Association and the American Institute of Architects.
As the pace quickens, manufacturers who offer more environmentally friendly products or use sustainable and energy-efficient methods to produce their products will often have a competitive advantage over those who do not.
Show Your Green Side At CONEXPO-CON/AGG

CONEXPO-CON/AGG attendees are among those who will be looking for sustainable and energy-efficient products and equipment. Be prepared to discuss the following about yours:
- Pre- and post-consumer recycled content
- Energy use, if applicable
- Emissions standards, if applicable
- Origin of materials used to produce it
- Reusability
- Role in waste diversion, if applicable
- Overall carbon footprint
If you can intelligently talk about the sustainable and energy-efficient aspects of your products and equipment, you will have the upper-hand against competitors.
Multiple, Industry-Focused Capabilities vs. Single Resources
Managing multiple, often overlapping, external resources can be time-consuming, frustrating and costly as you try to integrate the value each brings to delivering one cohesive growth strategy and execution.
For this reason, BMG was created 20 years ago to address this situation for small- to medium-sized manufacturers, technology groups and associations serving the construction and related industries. We are uniquely structured with extensive industry knowledge, beneficial relationships and expertise in the multiple interrelated capabilities that can deliver research and analysis, strategies and tactical recommendations and complete sales development and marketing execution as required.
Single resource companies often work in a variety of industries and typically care to know just enough to complete their specific assignments. As a result, they typically cannot customize their work enough to provide the most useable value possible. Our “claim to fame” is that our industry focus and multiple, unique capabilities allow us to help many companies execute and achieve their growth goals.
