What Is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary" and is in the simplest terms, an easy and convenient way to have a Web site tell you when they add new content, and what that content is. RSS allows you to customize the news you receive, so you only see the news you want.
3 Easy Steps (Read Instructions First)
1. Install An RSS Reader
You probably already have an RSS reader installed on your computer. Internet Explorer 7 has one built in and is very easy to use. To see what version you have, open Internet Explorer, go to "Help", and click on "About Internet Explorer." If you don't have Internet Explorer 7, you can download it here.
2. Open An RSS Feed
To open an RSS feed, first locate a web page that provides an RSS feed. Many industry examples are shows below under the "RSS Feeds Of Interest" Once you've found a link, click on the RSS button within Internet Explorer. It can be found at the top of your Internet Explorer 7 browser, on the right side. Sometimes sites with links to numerous RSS feeds will list them on the page. You can use these links to open the RSS feed as well.
3. Subscribe To An RSS Feed
Once you click the button (or link within the page), your RSS feed will open in your browser. At the top of the page, there will be a link to "Subscribe to this feed." After you click this link, click the "Subscribe" button in the box that comes up and your RSS subscription is complete.
To view all your feeds, click the Favorites Center button at the top of the page. Then click "Feeds", where you can view all of the RSS feeds you have subscribed to.
